Our Investment Process
Oikonomos employs a top-down approach to investment analysis. This is based in the belief that the overarching environment and trend of the global economy is much more important than a single, specific "good idea." No matter how good a new invention/idea may be, if it doesn't have a conducive environment to thrive in, it will not be successful. After observing one-dimensional, over-simplified investment strategies, Oikonomos set out to provide it's clients with a different approach. We want to know what is causing capital to flow around the world. International capital flows are the number one determinant of market trends, and also the number one determinant for a dramatic change in these trends. Each step of the process is continually monitored and reviewed for any potential changes. As such, over time, there are always going to be tweaks and adjustments to the economic outlook and ultimately client portfolios. The allocation that may have worked well for the past ten years, won't necessarily work for the next ten years. The world changes, and so should your portfolio. At Oikonomos, we use a variety of methods of investment analysis in order to meaningfully reduce our clients' risk, while still aiming to achieve positive returns and outperformance relative to comparable benchmarks.
